ABL Aviation Delivers Sixth A220-300 Sale-And-Leaseback to Air France

Dublin, Ireland, December 2023 – ABL Aviation, the independent and dedicated global full-service aircraft asset management firm has announced the delivery of its sixth Airbus A220-300 sale-and-leaseback to Air France. This latest transaction, executed on behalf of its Japanese partner through a Japanese Operating Lease (JOL) structure, solidifies the ongoing partnership between ABL Aviation and Air France and reaffirms ABL Aviation’s commitment to providing tailored leasing and servicing solutions to its airline partners worldwide.

The A220-300, known for its efficiency and flexibility, is equipped with advanced Pratt & Whitney PW1521G-3 geared turbofan engines, which reduces fuel consumption and emissions by 25% compared to previous-generation aircraft. This significant reduction in emissions aligns with the aviation industry’s global goal of achieving net-zero carbon dioxide emissions by 2050. For Air France, incorporating the A220-300 into its fleet represents a strategic decision to improve operational efficiency and passenger comfort on short-haul routes. The aircraft features a spacious cabin, wide seats, and large windows, all combining to provide an enhanced travel experience for passengers.

ABL Aviation’s CEO, Ali Ben Lmadani, expressed enthusiasm about the delivery, saying, “This delivery not only strengthens our partnership with Air France but also reflects our shared drive to advance the aviation industry. ABL Aviation remains committed to supporting Air France in upgrading its fleet with this aircraft and connecting our other airline partners with investors who can support them with their expansion and modernization goals.”

ABL Aviation has consistently showcased its expertise in aircraft asset management by effectively bridging the gap between aircraft investors and airlines. Their strategic approach in aligning investment and operational goals continues to play a significant role in advancing global aviation and meeting the ever-evolving demands of international travel.
